The Way to Choose a Right Hat
2008-08-28

The Way to Choose a Right Hat

Hat is a magic accessory that it can make up for your shortage. You can be more vibrant or elegant when you wearing a hat. So it is important to choose a hat whether in summer or winter.         Before you buy a hat, you should ask yourself three questions. First, why do I want a hat? For a treat, for an occasion, to pamper myself or catch up with the fashion trends. Second, when will I wear it? For a wedding, shopping, traveling or protect against the cold or sun. Third, what do I want it to do? To protect me, to finish the look of my outfit, to help me stand out or to pick up my mood.         When you are really buying, you should consider four sides to choose the right one that fits you best.

  1. Consider Your Overall Shape         1). If you're petite, Choose hats with a small brim and low crown, avoid big hats, which can be overpowering to small frames         2). If you're tall: Choose hats with a wide brim and a shorter crown, avoid narrow, angular-shaped hats         3). If you're full-figured, wide, full-brimmed hats can add balance to a curvy figure

   2. Consider Your Face Shape         1). If you have a oval face: Most hat shapes will suit your face proportions. So choose one you feel confident in wearing, or it will stay in the closet. A simple solid color hat may look best.         2). If you have a long face. Choose a hat that has a wide brim and low crown that off sets the length of a long face.         3). If you have a round face: Balance the roundness of your face with a hat that has a good, high crown and medium sized brim. A short crown and a small brim hat will your face look more round.         4). If you have a heart shaped face: Most hats will look good on a heart shaped face. However a medium sized brim rather than a wide brim on your hat will prevent your jaw line from looking too narrow.         5). If you have a square face: benefit from an irregular brim. The broken lines of an asymmetrical brim, such as a hat that turns up on one side and down on the other with a slight droop to the brim that shades the face. Trimmings should be arranged to also follow the line of the hat -such as being placed on the side of the hat brim that droops. The hat should grace the face, drawing attention away from the facial width.         6). If you have a sharp and angular face: Medium size hats with slightly drooping brims that provide shadow to the face and decrease the faces length. Soft crowns that drape softly on one side are ideal but may not be easy to find. Soft, fluffy trims tend to soften the angular features of the face. Severe brims such as those that roll upward from the face with stiff trimmings should be avoided.         3. Choose the Correct Size.         A hat that is too big is better than one that is too small. A tight hat may give you a headache and then you won't want to wear it. Many hats are adjustable, but in all  cases, please be sure to measure your head to ensure a perfect fit.          4. Consider Your Hairstyle          Don't just drop your newly chosen hat on top of your regular hairstyle, especially if you have really long or full hair. Instead, try tucking your hair behind your ears or pulling it back into a low ponytail. This can help balance and proportion your look and ensure that your upper half isn't over-powered          5. Useful tips:         1) Don't wear your new hat everyday. Not only will that make people sick of seeing it, it'll outdate it fast.         2) Consider getting your favorite style in a couple different colors. That way you can wear it with more outfits.         Choose the right one for you with the methods and enjoy your life.
